Irish Repertory Theatre

Scene from Irish Playwww.irishtallahassee.org

The Irish Repertory Theatre is a group of notable community actors who, in Ensemble, perform plays written by Irish playwrights. Their purpose is to promote and preserve the wealth of Celtic history, music and literature, by bringing it alive on stage with works by well-known and obscure Irish playwrights. This is accomplished by productions staged at Tallahassee Little Theatre and with Celtic Knots, an annual playwriting contest. Winning contest entries are performed at the FSU Studio Theatre during the New Horizons Festival of New Works. Actors, board members and the artistic director are volunteers.

The Faustkateers are a wild and wily group who write, direct, perform, and produce cabaret-style shows, plays, radio shows, videos, and special projects. Often billed as "community theater for the weird community," the group is open to all, and especially committed to creating opportunities for people with disabilities.

Theater with a Mission brings history to life through plays from the Spanish Golden Age.  Currently, we’re exploring, in Spanish and in English, El nuevo mundo descubierto por Cristóbal Colón [Columbus Finds a New World, c. 1600]. This magnificent comedia by Lope de Vega dramatizes first contact between Native Americans and Spanish explorers. We perform at Mission San Luis and other Tallahassee venues—and we’re taking our show on the road, as Florida’s Quincentennial approaches. Join us!
