Michele Ackermann, Owner /Director of The Dance Studio, is a nationally accredited to teach all disciplines of dance by Dance Masters of America, Inc and Dance Educators of America, Inc. She is proud to be entering her thirty-ninth year of professional teaching and choreographing. A prolific choreographer, Michele Ackermann’s musical theatre work has been seen on the stages of Tallahassee Community College, Tallahassee Little Theatre, Young Actors Theatre, and Quincy Musical Theatre.

Ansley Joye Jones aka Jukeboxx is a bgirl, capoeirista, hip hop feminist, dancer/choreographer, writer/researcher, student, educator and foremost, activist. She earned her BFA in Visual and Performing Arts at Savannah State University in 2004. She earned her MA in American Dance Studies from the Florida State University School of Dance in 2011. She is currently working on turning her thesis "A Battle of Repression: Hip Hop Bgirls, Burns and Gestural Language 1970 to 2010" into a book. This research focuses on the history of women and their expression in hip hop dance. She teaches a breaking class every Saturday at Namaste Yoga. This class is designed to make the art form of breaking accessible to all who are interested.

Joy is a dancer/actor/singer and for many years taught dance and worked professionally in musical theater in South Florida. She later went on to pursue a degree in Geology. By day, Joy is a geologist/environmental scientist, but still loves the theater! She has been seen at Tallahassee Little Theater in "Cabaret" and "The Producers." Joy also dances competitively with her partner and has won numerous dance competitions throughout the U.S.

Nancy Redig has been performing various forms of ethnic dance for over 20 years. She has traveled internationally to learn about the dances in the native areas. She currently teaches at In Step Studio (founded 1999) in southern Leon County. She firmly believes that to perform the dances, you must understand the cultures, language and music of the dance origins. She continues to study and share her knowledge from the years of experience. Nancy is a member of the Board of Directors for FSU Friends of Dance, Florida Dance Association and been a part of COCA since the beginning.
