When I create a painting, I endeavor to help you perceive the positive energy that surrounds you; to not only see the kaleidoscope of colors; but to feel the wind in your hair; to feel the warmth of the sun; to hear the music of the Qi, and to taste the fragrance of life.

Peter Thomas Bigelow
850-942-9834 | ptbigelow@comcast.net | www.PeterBigelow.com
Painting is a serious effort to deal creatively with deep inexpressible emotions I feel when confronted with the wonder and irony of living in this world. Nature and the man's place in nature is at the center of much of my art. I try to use the visible world to allude to the invisible.

Julie Bowland
229-253-9395 | bowlandjulie@netscape.net | www.juliebowland.com
I am primarily a landscape painter, working directly from nature in a thick, vigorous impasto with a strong emphasis on color. Color expresses excitement and emotion as well as establishing and defining space and form. An expressionist at heart, I believe that color and form may be freely interpreted and exaggerated, but it is important to me to paint from nature.

Ray Burggraf

My abstract paintings and color constructions highlight Earth’s light and atmosphere. With glowing jewel-like colors, smooth gradations emerge to evoke the grandeur of breathtaking vistas. Thoughts of oceans and the blazes of sunsets burst into creation from acrylic paintings on thin, sinuously-shaped panels of wood.

Richard Drake
850-383-9765 | richard-drake-artist@comcast.net | home.comcast.net/~richard-drake-artist
When I present myself to my canvases to begin creating, I choose to create in a preconscious state. I do this to prevent my conscious self from interfering with the creative process. I believe once learned the formal principles of composition will appear if left alone to do so on their own terms. I am often inspired by pure and simple things in our world as points of departure for my artwork.

Jean Henriksen
850-386-7623
Nearly all of Jean Henriksen's works depict a real place that she has visited while traveling the state. Many of the places and people she painted have now vanished, including traditional Native-American villages in the Everglades, untouched ocean scenes in the Keys, and North Florida springs now being encroached upon by development and damaged by agriculture. Working from her home with oils and palette knives, she paints realistic three-dimensional landscapes – from memory.

Anna Kincaide
850-228-3433 | annakincaide@gmail.com | www.annakincaide.com
Beginning in childhood, I have always been able to see beauty and in everyday life. Color and light combining with whimsy and desire capture the spirit of the moment. Every day brings a new discovery as I down an artist's path. The similarities and dissimilarities between subjects, the use of texture and color and the array of emotion captured in a piece is both challenging and rewarding as an artist.

Junia Mason-Edmonds
JuniaMason@aol.com | www.juniamason.com
For inspiration I take to the woods with camera to frame starting points for my paintings. This raw material provides the foundation, lending authenticity and individuality to each project. From such kernels of truth, I exaggerate and reduce the high contrast, stained-glass like patterns of light and shadow toward a more dynamic and kinetic composition, propelling the image along the continuum from landscape to abstraction.

Mark Messersmith

The fading landscape I paint, is at least for awhile, out there someplace, somewhere just beyond the urban sprawl, shopping malls, and trailer parks. It is still a land of myths and facts, inhabited by powerful birds, vigilant panthers, weary gators, blackwater swamps, old cypress trees, back road citrus stands and careening logging trucks.

Have you ever seen something so beautiful you feel as though you are the luckiest person in the world to have been at that place at that moment? You snap a picture but some how the photograph never seems quite as spectacular as when you were actually there. This is why I love to paint. It allows me to capture on canvas, the feelings or emotions of the moment -
