In a waking state, the human eye takes in images, frozen frames of information and transmits them to the brain. The brain makes sense of the chaos and decay of the natural world around us, creating an understanding of the way we fit into it all. We see a rusting dumpster and think nothing of it. We know metal deteriorates. In my photography, I’m catching that moment when the natural chaos is perceived as order, when the normal state of nature transcends the decay and transforms that rectangle of dumpster into art.
