MARKETING OPPORTUNITIES WITH COCA

COCA is committed to helping local artists and cultural organizations market their events, products, and services in the community. Below are links to various marketing opportunities. Of course, feel free to contact COCA if you need help or have ideas you'd like to discuss.

ARTIST DIRECTORY

Are you a:

  • Visual artist looking to sell your work, have a gallery exhibit, or find commissions?
  • Musician or music group looking for gigs?
  • Actor, singer, or dancer looking for parts?
  • Writer, director, designer, stage manager, technician, or backstage person looking for opportunities?

Add your name to our virtual listing of the area's talented visual artists, musicians, dancers, authors, and theatre personnel. It's free to join, and is the first place COCA refers anyone looking for artists or performers.

COCA members get enhanced listings that include a description of you or your work, a link to your personal web site, and an image (a sample of your artwork, your headshot, a book cover, etc.)

Please note, this directory is for individual artists and small performing groups for hire only. Other organizations should be listed in Capital Culture Magazine - see below.

CALENDAR OF EVENTS at MoreThanYouThought.Com

Now averaging more than 10,000 visitors and 90,000 hits per month, all of MoreThanYouThought.com's (MTYT) features are free and easy to use. Publicize your events free of charge on a site that's also advertising-free! This interactive community calendar is searchable by type of event, date, location, and key word. If you want thousands of people to consider your events when making their entertainment plans, post them here.

Civic, cultural, and private organizations regularly check conflicts on MTYT before planning their own events. If they see your major fundraiser or big performance listed many months in advance, then they'll likely choose a different time to hold their blockbuster event.

National magazines, including Southern Living and AAA's Travel Magazines, pull information from MTYT for their regional spotlights. Because publishing deadlines are months in advance of distribution, only local organizations with their whole season of events posted will benefit from the coverage.

Local news channels WTXL 27 and WCTV 6 regularly monitor postings on MTYT and highlight events on their community calendars and on the air. Local magazines refer to MTYT for their cultural listings as well.

Other websites, including the City of Tallahassee and the Tallahassee Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, link visitors to MTYT as the central place to stay in touch with the community's cultural events.
