My work is post-modern abstact. While it may include symbolic imagery,
the paintings relate more to form and color field and relationships
between forms than to representational object. The works are unemotional
reponses to enviorment and become objects rather than renditions
of an object. Several works include motorized components that impart
motion to work, forcing the viewer to adjust to changes within the
piece as the component part of the painting change. |

My
work is intricate drawings using handmade papers, feathers and
various other materials. They increase the tactile and textural
effect of the total piece. By this method and combination, I often
get a 'tromp l'oeil' effect. Along with these larger drawings,
I have begun to parallel them with miniature watercolor and small
acrylic paintings which are abstract. |

love the way that many artists look at everyday items or issues
and show them in another way or from a different perspective.
I like old stories and myths from other cultures and try to understand
their view of the world and incorporate bits of those stories
and characters into my own world. I like going to galleries and
junk stores, looking through books and magazines, and gathering
ideas for new creations. Sometimes, I feel my head is going to
explode from the wild mixture churning away in there. |
