Studies and performs Shakespeare’s plays for the enrichment of our Tallahassee community. Each year CCS chooses a Shakespeare play, spends the fall season studying and offering workshops and public readings, then mounts a full-length production in the spring. CCS’s present home is the beautiful Zolton Farkas Theatre at the Young Actors Theatre and School for the Performing Arts on Glenview Drive.

Dysfunction Junction Improv is Tallahassee's newest improv comedy troupe, performing at the Comedy Zone on Tennessee Street every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

Produces a variety of classical and contemporary plays, with major emphasis on African-American culture. A group of actors brought together through luck in an acting class, who write and perform. Many of the actors have studied together for several years and are excited to bring their craft to the stage. Performances are held at Tallahassee Progressive Center.

Tallahassee’s tongue-in-cheek answer to a certain unctuous rodent in Orlando, often billed as “community theater for the weird community.” Performs cabaret-style shows, heavy on political parody, in a lime green and purple barn at the lip of Railroad Square. It’s fun and it’s cheap–usually just ten bucks a show. Tickets are first come, first served, so come early and listen to the live pre-show music under the Mulberry tree in the backyard. The group is open to all, and especially committed to creating opportunities for people with disabilities.

On the National Registry of Historic Places, the theatre offers productions of drama, comedy, musical theatre, live radio theatre, murder mystery dinner theatre, and Jazz in the Garden. The house season, September through May, also offers concerts, opera, and dance. Designated the Official Folk Life Play of Georgia. All of Swamp Gravy’s plays are based on real life stories, taken from taped interviews and adapted for the stage by a local playwright. Tickets are generally $10 for the general public and $7 for students and seniors. TCC students, faculty, and staff are admitted free.

A non-profit youth theatre and school for the performing arts that has been providing quality entertainment to Tallahassee and the surrounding communities since 1975. Produces a three-show season that includes two musicals and one drama. Offers a comprehensive theatre education program that integrates the three key elements of the performing arts: drama, music, and dance. Students are placed in classes according to age, experience, and ability. Classes are based on September to May curriculum and feature performance opportunities.

Sponsors free public screenings of BFA films each December, and free public screenings of MFA thesis films each August. Seating is limited at all screenings. Film students produce more than 150 complete sound films each year, and thesis films have won more than 600 prizes, awards, and special screenings at national and international film festivals. FSU Film School holds open casting twice a year for its fall and spring graduate and undergraduate films. No experience is necessary. Directors look for actors of all ages, experience, and type. Volunteer crew members also needed.

One of the nation's leading campus movie programs, featuring five to six nights a week of everything from the most recent blockbuster movies to documentaries, indies, and foreign films, and restored cinema classics. Movies are selected by an all-student committee. FSU's Student Life Cinema is chock full of state-of-the-art technology, from the array of projection equipment to the Dolby Digital surround speakers on every wall. Movies are free for all currently enrolled students with an FSUCard, unless otherwise noted, and admission for the general public is $4. Doors open half an hour before the start of films.
