Private Violin Lessons

Learning the violin is a great way for students to express themselves musically while developing their listening abilities, coordination, and a host of other cognitive skills.  It is a versatile instrument that finds its place in many different genres, so once a student has mastered the basics, he or she is free to choose from many exciting paths.  My lessons are based primarily on Suzuki materials, but I love to incorporate other repertoire according to the student's unique interests.  For students wishing to explore the Irish fiddle tradition, I offer specialized instruction in ornamentation, bowing, rhythm, and phrasing to help them develop an authentic playing style.
