Posting Policies

MoreThanYouThought.com is a free, interactive community events calendar. Everyone is invited to post their events (arts-related and otherwise) to the calendar for no charge, provided the posting guidelines are met. Events not meeting these guidelines may be removed without notice.

Please keep in mind the following philosophy: often users come to this calendar to find out what they can do THAT DAY. Please DO NOT POST any event that would not allow the visitor to attend the same day they see the event on the calendar. 

All community events are welcome, whether arts-related or not.

Post your events well in advance (as soon as you know the date!). Other planners will then be able to avoid the same date, and magazines with long lead times will be able to help you publicize your event. 
 

The listing must be a specific event. Please do not post all the regular operating hours or a class schedule for your business or organization.

Is your event open to the public? Board meetings, rehearsals, and other organization specific events are welcome as long as the public is permitted to attend.

Is your event being held within 100 miles of Tallahassee? Please make sure the address is listed in the entry.

Please do not post events with "call for location" or "directions sent after registration." The event location must be listed. (If your event location is TBA, you may post it, but please come back and add the location once it is finalized.)  

Please do not post online-only events. If you have an arts-related online event or exhibit, please contact COCA for other ways to help promote it.

Ongoing events that happen each week or month are welcome.

Please do not post events with "date TBA." Event date(s) MUST be listed. 

Single day lectures, workshops, seminars and classes are welcome.

Please do not post ongoing classes and workshops (i.e. 6-week ballet class on Mondays at 5 pm). While COCA supports these events, there are simply too many for this format.

Please do not post camps of any kind.

Please do not post registration or sign-up periods as separate events. You may include registration information as part of your event listing, but the date for the event should be ONLY the date(s) the event is actually happening, not the registration period. 

Please do not post general calls for artists, entries, contests, or volunteers on this calendar. Contact erica@cocanet.org to request a listing for these calls in COCA's Weekly E-Mail Blast.
