Shifting Shadows, Changing Light: Watercolors by René Lynch and Cassie Tucker
Suzy's Blues by Rene LynchWith deft hands and keen eyes, René Lynch and Cassie Tucker join forces in this tribute to color, texture and light. Viewers will be transported to sultry, tropic locals and romantic, European sidewalks without even packing a suitcase.
Tallahassee artist, René Lynch, draws inspiration from her year long sabbatical in Hawaii and various other travels to exotic shores. She captures the lushness of lilies and birds of paradise with bold, vibrant, light filled compositions. Using water based media that mimics the organic qualities of her subject matter, she recreates the exuberance of our natural world.
Passion Portal by Cassie TuckerCassie Tucker is a Crawfordville based artist who freezes moments in time with nothing more than water and pigment. She’s intrigued by elongated shadows as they stretch across faded Parisian façades and how light plays on the underside of majestic magnolias. Her ideas come from journeys abroad as well as the wealth of beauty we have right here at home.
A public reception for Shifting Shadows, Changing Light is scheduled at the ArtPort Gallery for Thursday, May 31st from 6:00-7:30pm. Guests are asked to park in long-term parking and present parking tickets at the gallery for complimentary validation.
