Art in the outdoors

Before the medley of happy fruits and vegetables now decorating the outside wall of the Bread and Roses Co-op existed, it was just a blank canvas—a wall.

"It seemed like a big opportunity, I mean artistically it was a big open canvas," said Ralph Wilson, Bread and Roses keyholder. "It was just something that was begging to have something done to it."

Now the local grocery store’s community mural is one among many that the Council on Arts and Culture is highlighting for its outdoor art directory.
