A dynamic organization of both published and aspiring writers of all ages in all genres. Meetings are held monthly on the third Thursday at 6:30 pm at the American Legion Hall on Lake Ella. Meetings feature speakers and discussions about all facets of the craft and business of writing. TWA sponsors the Tallahassee Book Festival and Writers Conference in late spring and mini-workshops throughout the year. TWA also sponsors nationally recognized contests for writers: the Seven Hills Contest (short stories, creative non-fiction, flash fiction, children's stories) and Penumbra (poetry, haiku). Winners are published in the Seven Hills Review. Some years TWA also offers the Project Stagelight contest (stage plays) and is currently developing a screenwriting contest.
